Commandant National Defence College Nigeria Leads Course 33 Participants To Higher War College, Algeria
As part of the ongoing Regional Study Tour for Course 33 participants of the National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria, the Commandant, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, alongside members of Group 3, visited the Higher War College, Algeria. During the visit, the NDC team engaged in productive discussions with the Director of the Higher War College and senior Algerian military officers. Their deliberations focused on strategic military education, regional security cooperation, and potential areas for enhanced collaboration between both institutions.
The delegation also toured the War College’s facilities and received comprehensive briefings on its structure, academic programs, and operational framework. The Director of the Higher War College, Major General Ameed Fekkhan, warmly welcomed the NDC team and expressed appreciation for the visit. He reiterated the college’s readiness to strengthen ties with NDC in mutually beneficial areas.
In his remarks, Rear Admiral Olotu provided insights into the mission and objectives of the NDC, emphasizing its commitment to developing strategic leaders and fostering regional security partnerships. He highlighted the importance of deeper collaboration between both institutions, as well as broader bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Algeria in areas of mutual interest.
As part of the visit, the team also toured the Algerian Central Museum of the Army, where they received briefings on the country’s military history and geopolitical landscape. The team was later hosted to a dinner attended by senior officials of the Algerian military and of the Nigeria’s embassy in Algiers.
The visit is another significant step in NDC Nigeria’s efforts to promote regional security cooperation and enhance strategic learning through engagements with allied institutions and nations.
