History of the College Library

The Library of the National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria was established in 1992 to cater for the research and information needs of the Course Participants, Faculty Members and research fellows within and outside the College.

As a “Special Library”, the collections are mostly on Military Arts and Science, Technology, Conflict Resolution and Management, Terrorism and Counter Terrorism, Peace Building, Politics and International Relations among others.

The College library also has a liaison arrangement with other libraries like the National Library of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of International Affairs Library, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Secretariat Library and the University of Abuja Library. In addition, e-Library services are available at the College library.

The NDC library is located on the ground floor of the main College complex with a collection of over 15,000 titles (books/journals) covering various fields of knowledge relevant to the curriculum of the College. The library is automated and Wi-Fi friendly.

The NDC library mission is to facilitate research through the provision of current reference materials (books, journals and periodicals) and effective and efficient services in a most conducive learning environment.
