The Commandant
Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo OLOTU was born on the 27 February 1971 and hails from Ikare-Akoko Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Admiral attended local education authority primary school Ikare Akoko Ondo State, Federal Government College Port Harcourt Rivers before he gained admission as a member of 39 regular course at Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna. He graduated in 1991 with Bachelor Of Science in biological sciences. He also obtained Master Of Arts in International Security And Strategic Studies from Kings College London in 2014.
He attended several courses which includes:
– Midshipman Course – German Naval College, Flensburg, Germany.
– Sub Lieutenant Technical Course – Germany.
– Junior And Senior Staff Courses – Armed Forces Command And Staff College Jaji, Kaduna – Nigeria.
– Officers Long Course – Nigerian Navy Ship Quorra Lagos.
– Strategic Leaderships Course – Rcds London.
Rear Admiral Olumiyiwa Morankinyo Olotu also served in various capacities among which are:
– Watch Keeping Officer – Nigerian Navy Ships AMBE and ARADU.
– Executive Officer – Nigerian Navy Ship Brass and Forward Operating Base, Igbokoda.
– Navigating Officer – Nigerian Navy Ship NWAMBA.
– Naval Assistant to The Chief of Policy and Plans – Naval Headquarters Abuja
Others Are:
– Directing Staff – Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji and National Defence College Nigeria.
– Commander, Maritime Guard Command and Nigerian Navy Ship Lugard Lokoja.
– Chief Staff Officer – Headquarters Logistics Command
– Director of Manning – Naval Headquarters Abuja.
He was the Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command before his appointment as the commandant of this prestigious college, the national defence college nigeria.

The senior officer loves reading, conducting research, hiking, boating and writing. He is married and the union is blessed with children.
