NDC to Conduct Graduation Ceremony for Participants of Course 27

The National Defence College (NDC) will be conducting the graduation ceremony for its participants of Course 27 from 26 July to 2 August 19. In line with the tradition of the College, several activities have been scheduled for the week-long event. Accordingly, the graduation week activities will commence with a Juma’at prayer at the National Defence College Mosque on 26 July by 2:00pm and an Inter-denominational Church Service at the Trinity Military Protestant Church, Ushafa on 28 July 19 by 9:00am.

 

 

Other activities lined up for the week include the Graduation Sports Fiesta on 27 July 19 at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment Sports Complex, Asokoro, Abuja by 3:00pm. This will be followed by the Graduation Lecture scheduled for 30 July 2019 at the College Auditorium. The Lecture titled “Youth Inclusiveness and Good Governance: Imperatives for Regional Security and Development” will be delivered by His Excellency, Mr Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Also, there will be a Graduation Dinner and Award Night on 31 July 2019 by 6:00pm at the College Premises, while the events for the week will culminate with the Graduation Ceremony on 2 August 19 at the College Auditorium by 9:00am. The Special Guest of Honour for the Graduation Ceremony will be His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

NDC Course 27 was inaugurated on 3 September 18 with 127 participants from the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Nigeria Police, and other Security Agencies, Strategic Institutions/Ministries, Departments and Agenciesand International participants from Bangladesh, Republic of Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Gabon, Republic of Ghana, India, Mali, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

 

The 12 months’ strategic military level course saw the participants undertake different academic and military study packages amongst which were: Research Methodology and Strategic Writing; State and Socio-Political Environment; Economy and Finance; Science and Technology; International Affairs and Regional Studies; Policy Strategy; Statecraft and National Security; War and Conflict Studies; as well as Peace Support Operations. The participants were also taken through various military, leadership and other capstone exercises, while various tours and visits were conducted to consolidate syndicate discussions and lectures delivered within the period of the course.
