Director, Department of Coordination - Brigadier General ...
Director, Department of Higher Military Organisations (DHMO) - Brig Gen OAO Ojo
Brig Gen Olumide Adeleke Oluwagbemiga Ojo was born on 7 Mar 74 in Lagos State, to the family of Chief and Mrs Joseph Ajewole Ojo. He hails from Eti Osa LGA of Lagos State, where he had his primary education at Loral Nursery and Primary School in Festac Town, Lagos from 1980 to 1985. Afterwards, he proceeded to Egbado (now Yewa) College in Ilaro, Ogun State to obtain his Secondary School Certificate from 1985 to 1991, before attending the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as a member of the 45 RC in 1993. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Army Signals Corps in 1998.
Brig Gen OAO Ojo holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from NDA, Post Graduate Diploma from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Osun State. Post Graduate Diploma in Renewable Energy from Pace University New York, USA, Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, USA as well as a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan. He has also attended several courses, some of which include Signals Young Officers Course, Infantry Young Officers Course, Signals Squadron Commanders Course, Signals Officers Engineering Course, Junior and Senior Staff Courses as well as the Commanding Officers Course. He is also an alumna of the prestigious NDC, Nigeria course 28. Additionally, the senior officer has participated in the following PSO,UNAMSIL (2003, NIBAT 18 as Communications Officer), and Secondment to the UN Headquarters in New York from 2009 – 2014.
Brig Gen Ojo has served in several units and held appointments commensurate to his rank in the course of his career. Some of which include MTO in 520 SR, Ibadan, AO in 512 Bde Sigs, Kano, OC in 535 Bde Signals, Abeokuta and SO2 G3 HQ NAS, Lagos. Others include, DCOS G4, Dir ICT, and Dir Telecoms at HQ NAS, Lagos. Additionally, Brig Gen Ojo was also deployed as Comd SOC, Lagos under AHQ, and Comd 53 Sigs Bde under 3 Div, Jos where he participated actively in providing Communications support for the CTCOIN Ops in the NE.
Brig Gen Olumide served as Directing Staff and Acting Chief Instructor at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (2014 – 2017). He was also a Directing Staff at the prestigious NDC (2023 – Jun 2025). He is currently the DHMO at the NDC. Brig Gen Olumide Ojo is happily married to Mrs Taiwo Temitope Ojo and the union is blessed with 3 children. His hobbies include; reading, travelling, and playing golf.
Director, Department of Curriculum and Programmes Development (DCPD) - Commodore Abidemi Adebayo ABU
Commodore Abidemi Adebayo Abu was born on 23 July 1974 and hails from Oka-Akoko, Akoko South-West LGA of Ondo State. The Senior Officer attended Baptist Primary School, Apapa and Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo Lagos, before being enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in August 1994 as a member of 46 RC. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Navy (NN) as a Sub-Lieutenant on 18 September 1999.
Commodore AA Abu is a skilled Weapons Electrical Engineering Officer and an experienced Marine Surveyor. He has served in various capacities during his career in the NN. Notably, he was a Watch Keeping Officer Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) AMBE, Assistant Light Officer NNS LANA, OiC Technical Stores Depot Lagos and Calabar. He was a Military Observer under African Union Mission in Sudan, Instructor Weapon Engineering (WE) School, Naval Institute of Technology (NIT) Sapele, and Assistant WE Officer NNS ARADU. He was also Staff Officer II WE, Naval Assistant to the Chief of Naval Engineering, Staff Officer 1 Construction, and Acting Director of Construction, all at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ). He was a member, and Chief Delegate of the NN Offshore Patrol Vessel Construction Team in China. He served as Deputy General Manager Yard Services and Project Coordinator for the locally built Seaward Defence Boat (NNS OJI) at Naval Dockyard Limited, Directing Staff at the Naval War College Nigeria, Deputy Director Policy/Plans NHQ and presently the Director Curriculum and Programmes Development at the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja.
Commodore AA Abu has attended several local and international military and civil courses, some of which are the Officer Application Course at NIT, Junior Staff Course at Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, and Senior Command and Staff Course at Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) Accra. He also attended the Conflict and Crisis Management Course, Defence Management Course, Exclusive Economic Zone Management Course, as well as the Integrated Peace Support Operations Course all at GAFCSC. Others are the Civil Military Operator Course at the Peace Support Training Centre, Kingston Ontario Canada, the Higher Defence and Strategic Studies Course 28, as well as the Peace Support Operations (PSO) Course for Senior Mission Leaders and African Union Pilot Training on Protection of Civilians in PSO at NDC.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from NDA, and PGD in Marine Surveying (with Specialism in Warranty Surveys including Mobile Offshore Units) from Northwest Kent College and Lloyd’s Maritime Academy UK. He also holds a MA Degree in International Affairs from University of Ghana Legon Accra, MPhil in Security and Strategic Studies (SSS) from NDA. He is decorated with Forces Service Star, Meritorious Service Star, Distinguished Service Star, Pass Staff Course, Distinguished Fellow of the Defence College and the Naval War College Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), and Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. He is married and the union is blessed with children. At his leisure time, the Senior Officer enjoys reading, travelling, driving, cycling, and adventure.
Director, Department of National and Military Strategy (DNMS) - Air Commodore LI Nansoh
Air Commodore Longonfa Immanuel Nansoh was born on 31 July 1976 in Jos Plateau State to the family of Mr Alex and Veronica Nansoh. He hails from Langtang North in Plateau State. He began his education at Alama Private School in Jos from 1979 to 1987 and attended St. Joseph’s College Vom Plateau State where he obtained his secondary school certificate in 1993. He enlisted in the Nigerian military attending the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of the 46 Regular Course. He completed training and was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force Provost Corps.
Air Cdre LI Nansoh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the NDA and a Master of Arts in International Security and Strategy from the King’s College London. He has also undergone several military courses, including the Military Police Officers Basic Course and the Police Administration and Security Management Courses all at the Nigerian Army School of Military Police Basawa Zaria Kaduna State, the Armed Forces Command and Staff College for both the Junior and Senior Course and the Martin Luther Agwai Peace Keeping Centre Jaji. Other courses he has attended include the Advanced Detective Course at the Nigerian Police Staff College Jos, the Command Responsibility Course and the Air War Course at the NAF Air War College Makurdi. He is also a Member of the Royal College of Defence Studies UK.
In his career, Air Commodore Nansoh has held a range of positions, including Admin Officer Provost Investigation Centre Officer in Ikeja, Security Officer at Air House Lagos, Officer Commanding Provost Squadron in Shasha and Kano and he has operational experience as a Military Observer in the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. He was also Air Assistant to the Chief of Administration at HQ NAF and Military Assistant to the Chief of Policy and Plans at Defence Headquarters. He commanded the No1 Provost Wing 453 Base Services Group Kaduna, served as Command Air Provost Officer at HQ Air Training Command Kaduna and Tactical Air Command Makurdi, respectively. He has also served as Military Adviser Conduct and Discipline for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, the Deputy Commandant at the Military Training Centre Kaduna and Deputy Air provost Marshal HQ NAF. Currently he is the Director of National and Military Strategy at the National Defence College Abuja.
His decorations include the DSS, psc, fawc, FCM and he has received the Force Commander’s Commendation Award during his tour of duty in the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Air Commodore Nansoh is married to Mrs Sharon Shandow Nansoh and their marriage is blessed with four daughters and he and enjoys reading, driving, and studying and teaching leadership.
Director, Department of Academic Research and Analytical Support (DARAS) - Commodore RO Adoki

Commodore Reginald Odeodi Adoki was born in Abua, in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State. He attended Enitonna High School, Port Harcourt, before proceeding to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in 1995 as a member of 47 Regular Course. He was subsequently commissioned into the Executive (Seaman) Branch of the Nigerian Navy (NN) in the Year 2000 with a BSc in Mathematics.
The senior officer is a Principal Warfare Officer with specialization in Communications and sub-specialization in Intelligence. He attended the Officers’ Long Course Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) QUORRA, the Junior and Senior Staff Courses at Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, the Young Officers’ Intelligence Course at the NN Intelligence School (NNIS) and the Defence Intelligence Officers’ Course at the Defence Intelligence College, Abuja. He also attended the Russian UN Military Observer Course Moscow; the International Principal Warfare Officers’ Course at Her Majesty Ship COLLINGWOOD Fareham UK; the Naval War College Course Nigeria; the Defence Management Course at the College of Defence Management Secunderabad India; and the National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria for his strategic level training. He holds a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos (2012) and a Master of Science in Terrorism, Security and Policing from the University of Leicester, UK (2016), as a recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship. He is an alumnus of the National Security and Resilience Course at the Galilee International Management Course Nazareth, Israel.
Commodore RO Adoki has held several sea, staff and training appointments. The major ones are Ship Communication Officer of the Catclass vessel, NNS KYANWA, as well as Commanding Officer of both the Seaward Defence Boat NNS ANDONI and NNS KYANWA. He was also the pioneer Commanding Officer of the Landing Ship Transport vessel NNS KADA. In terms of training, he was an Instructor Communication School NNS QUORRA, Directing Staff at the AFCSC, Chief Instructor NNIS, Chief Instructor Naval Wing NDA and Chief Instructor Department of Maritime Warfare AFCSC. In addition, he was the Staff Officer Grade 1 Records at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ) and Staff Officer Grade 1 Operations at the Defence Intelligence Agency. He has commanded both the Forward Operating Bases IGBOKODA and BONNY. Before resuming at the NDC as a Directing Staff, he was the Deputy Director Recruitment Resettlement and Reserve at the NHQ, Abuja. He is currently the Director of Academic Research and Analytical Support, NDC.
Commodore RO Adoki has been decorated with the Distinguished Service Star, Fellow of the Defence College, Fellow Naval War College Nigeria, and Passed Staff Course (dagger). He has been awarded the Command-at-Sea Badge at the end of his sea command. He is a member of the United States Naval Institute and National Institute of Management of Nigeria. He is the author of the book, ‘Riding the Waves with Valour and Arms’ that chronicles his command of NNS KADA. He is married and the marriage is blessed with 4 boys. At his leisure, he enjoys reading, discussing geopolitics, listening to music of all genre and writing.
Director, Department of National and Geo-Political Affairs (DNGA) - Ambassador Akin Oyateru
Ambassador Akin Oyateru joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria in 1980 and holds a BSc in Political Science and a Masters degree in International and Diplomacy from the Universities of Ife and Lagos respectively.
During the course of his service, he deployed to various Departments at the Ministry Headquarters including those of Protocol, Africa, International Organisations, Policy Planning, Administration, Asia & Pacific and the State House, Abuja among others. He has also served at various Nigerian Missions overseas among which are Poland, Austria, Namibia and Ireland. An accomplished Diplomat, he has also represented the country at many international conferences.
One time Chief of Protocol of the Foreign Ministry, he served as the Chief Protocol Officer during the Presidential Inauguration Ceremonies in 1999, 2003 and that of 2007. He has also handled other protocol assignments involving visiting Heads of State and other Very Important Personalities.
The Ambassador was also a Director of the Asia & Pacific Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria and was a past Minister/Head of Political Affairs Section of the Nigeria High Commission, London from 2008 to 2012. He served as High Commissioner to Kenya with concurrent accreditation to Seychelles and Permanent Representative of Nigeria to UNEP and UN Habitat between 2012 and 2015.
Amb. Akin Oyateru retired from the Foreign Service after meritorious service in 2015. He was the Project Management Lead, of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (OHSCF) between 2017 – 2019. Before his current engagement as Director, National Geopolitical Affairs at the NDC, the distinguished diplomat was a Consultant in Public and International Affairs. Given his vast experience in the field, his expertise on the subject of Protocol Practice and Etiquette is much sought after. The Ambassador is married and the union is blessed with children. His hobbies include squash, golf, reading, traveling and the Arts.
Director, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) - Air Commodore Edmund Olushola Oluaokun
Air Commodore Edmund Olushola Oluokun was born on 10th April 1974 in Lagos. He hails from Ogbomosho in Ogbomosho Local Government Area of Oyo State. He had his primary education at Air Force Primary School Ikeja Lagos from 1980 – 1984. After his primary education, he was admitted into the Air Force Military School Jos, Plateau State, for his secondary education from August 1985 to December 1990. In August 1991, he was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as a member of 43 Regular Course. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering in 1995 and was commissioned a pilot officer on 21 September 1996.
Air Commodore Oluokun has attended several military and civil courses over the years, some of which include Officers Basic Communication Course at the Technical Training Group Nigerian Air Force Kaduna, Satellite Communications Course at Nigerian Tele-Communications Limited Oshodi. Others are Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Junior as well as Senior Command and Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji Kaduna respectively as well as the higher defence and strategic course at the prestigious National Defence College here in Abuja, Masters in Strategic Studies at Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna as well as Comparative Masters in Strategic Studies at University of Ibadan, Oyo State. He has the following awards: FSS, MSS (NDA), MSS(UI), psc, fdc (+) fwc (+) Mnim and the General operations medal.

Brig Gen EC Emere is an Education officer, commissioned in 1993. He hails from Umunze in Orumber South Local Government Area of Anambra state. He obtained Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Maiduguri, Master of Science in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from University of Ibadan as well as Master of Arts in Peace and Strategic Studies from University of Ilorin . He also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Tai Solarin University of Education. Brig Gen Emere is a member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and Chattered Institute of Peace and Conciliation of Nigeria.
Since his commission, he has attended several courses in the Nigerian Army, among which include: Nigerian Army Education Corps Executive Management course. Brig Gen Emere has served in many formations /Units among which are Head Quarters Nigerian Army Education Corps, Yaba Lagos, Command Secondary School Oshodi Lagos as Commandant, Nigerian Army Archives Lagos as Acting Director, Nigerian Military School Zaria as a Deputy Commandant. National Defence College Abuja as Deputy Director Curriculum as well as the pioneer Acting Director Education 8 Task Force Division Monguno, Borno State.
He also served at Army Head Quarters Directorate of Civil Military Affairs.
