Change of Leadership in the College
Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade has assumed duty on 8 October 2015 as the 15th Commandant of the National Defence College. He took over from Rear Admiral Ndidi Patrick Agholor who retired and was ceremoniously pulled-out of the Service on the same day.
Rear Admiral Alade is a member of the 27 Regular Course. He began his career in the Nigerian Navy serving as a navigator on various patrol boats and ships. He has held other command and staff appointments among which are: Directing Staff at Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji and the National Defence College, Abuja. He was Deputy Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji and later Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Apapa.
Rear Admiral Alade was the Chief of Navy Transformation at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja before being appointed the Commandant, National defence College.
