Defence College Seeks Synergy with Defence Intelligence Agency for Enhanced Curriculum and Capacity Building
The National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria is seeking a stronger partnership with the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) to enhance its academic curriculum, improve capacity building, and facilitate essential foreign tours for its participants. The Commandant of the NDC, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed, visited the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Lieutenant General Emmanuel Undiandeye, at the DIA Headquarters in Abuja today, December 3, 2025. Rear Admiral Ahmed congratulated the CDI on his recent promotion to Lieutenant General and immediately highlighted the areas requiring collaboration.
- Foreign Tour Arrangement: The Commandant specifically requested the DIA’s support in facilitating foreign trips for participants, which is a mandatory curriculum requirement for graduation.
- Curriculum Enhancement: He also noted the need to continually improve the college’s curriculum, which he stated could be better achieved through synergy with foreign partners.
He expressed gratitude to the CDI for making time to receive his delegation despite a demanding schedule.

In his response, Lieutenant General Undiandeye lauded the NDC, describing it as the highest military strategic and leadership training centre in Nigeria. He praised the College’s leadership for maintaining the institution’s mission and vision since its establishment in 1992, noting that the NDC has produced eminent leaders currently occupying strategic positions across various sectors in the country.
The CDI affirmed the DIA’s readiness to collaborate with institutions that can provide strategic and operational solutions to the ongoing campaign against criminality in the country. He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to the gallant men and women of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their dedication to duty.
The Commandant’s delegation included the Deputy Commandant, Director of Studies, Major General KO Ukandu; the College Secretary, AVM Ernest Owai; the Provost, Centre for Strategic Research and Studies, Prof AO Ahmed; Director Academic Research and Analytical Support, Cdre RO Adoki; Director National and Geo-political Affairs, Ambassador Akin Oyateru; and the College Public Relations Officer, Cdr AG Segun.
