DEPOWA President Charges Officers’ Wives on Vision Orientation – as NDCOWA honours wives of NDC Course 32 participants
The National President, Defence Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa has charged Officers’ Wives on the need to remain vision oriented while carrying out their supportive roles in the family. Mrs Musa gave this charge Tuesday during the graduation seminar organised by the National Defence College Officers’ Wives Association (NDCOWA) in honour of wives of Course 32 graduating participants of the National Defence College.
She said that the theme of the lecture which is “Visionary Living: Designing a Life of Achievement and Impact” resonates deeply as it outlines the roles, aspirations and legacy that officers’ wives always wish to leave behind. “Let me emphasize that each and everyone of you, as wives of officers occupies a unique position of influence. Your roles, though often unsung are pivotal in shaping the lives of those around you, your families, communities and even the institution your spouses serve. Beyond the support you provide, this seminar is about you and your vision, designing your path and making an indelible impact on the world,” the DEPOWA President stated.
She added that the essence of visionary living is to have an impact on the lives of others which she said transcends personal success and leaves behind a legacy for future generations. “As wives of senior officers, you have the opportunity to create ripples of positive change within your communities. Therefore, you need to prioritise self-care – and mindfulness as your ability to make impact is directly linked to your physical, mental and emotional health.”
Mrs Musa thanked the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and founder Renewed Hope Initiative, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her motherly inspiration and strategic guidance.
Delivering the lecture, a well-known family motivator and the current face of TIMES GUARDIAN, Mrs Oluwatoyin Oboh hampers on the role of women towards actualising visionary living aimed at enhancing and impacting positively to the growth of the society. She averred that women are created to lighten up family and encourage family growth. She charges women to stand up and conquer fears associated to failure and brace up vision that will take them to next height, adding that women are gifted to stabilize the family. She charges women to always be creative and starts from small to build bigger businesses.
In her remarks, the Special Guest of Honour at the Occasion and the wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs Titiola Adeleke commended the officers’ wives for demonstrating strength and stability towards personal growth and community services. “Impact is measured not only by grand achievements but by everyday actions that inspire those around us.” She congratulated the Coordinator NDCOWA, Mrs Rhoda Olotu for her pragmatic leadership of NDCOWA and thanked her for the honour of being invited as the Special Guest of Honour.
In her vote of thanks, the NDCOWA Coordinator, Mrs Rhoda Olotu congratulated wives of NDC Course 32 graduating participants for sustaining the home front during the eleven months intensive Course. She thanked the SGOH and the CDS wife for gracing the occasion.
Dignitaries at the event include representatives of wives of Service Chiefs and IGP, Wives of Heads of Security Agencies and Representatives from Ministry of Women Affairs.
