Brig Gen EK Jonah

Brigadier General Emmanuel Kuladanchi Jonah was born 23 November 1974 in Enugu. He attended Army Children School Effurun Warri; Nigerian Military School Zaria and University of Jos where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1997. The senior officer also obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Calabar and Master in Security and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy in 2004 and 2022 respectively.

Brig Gen Jonah was commissioned Lieutenant on 3 May 2000 with seniority of 3 September 1999 into the Nigerian Army Finance Corp (NAFC). Upon commissioning he has attended several courses which include Young Officers’ Course (YOC) Finance; Accounts Inspectors’ Course; Cashier Course; and Commander Division Finance and Accounts (CDFA) Course, all at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA). He also attended the Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Leadership Development Course and several seminars and programmes in Financial Administration, Strategy and Leadership.

During his career, Brig Gen Jonah served in various capacities covering finance duties, corporate financial services, instruction and administration. Notably, he was General Manager Finance, NA Post Service Homes Limited, General Manager Finance, NA Welfare Ltd, Military Assistant to the Chief of Accounts and Budget Army and General Manager Investments at the NA Welfare Insurance Scheme. He also served as Head of Professional Accounting Department and Acting Registrar NASFA, Deputy Director Finance and Accounts Defence Intelligence Agency and Acting Commander 8 Division Finance and Accounts.

The senior officer is decorated with Forces Service Star (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS). General Operations Medal (GOM) and Command Medal (CM). He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and fellow of the Institute of Taxation of Nigeria among others. Brig Gen Jonah is married and blessed with 3 children. At his leisure time, he enjoys playing Tennis, Badminton and Reading.
