NDC Commandant Pays Courtesy Call to the Chief of the Air Staff

The Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed, today, 12 November 2025, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal SK Aneke, at the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Abuja. The visit aimed to strengthen inter-service cooperation and solicit NAF’s continued support for critical College initiatives.

In his remarks, Rear Admiral Ahmed conveyed the College’s profound appreciation for the timely and vital logistical assistance provided by the NAF, specifically acknowledging the airlifting of participants and staff of Course 34 for the ongoing National Study Tour to 5 states of the Federation. The Commandant also used the occasion to brief the CAS on major developmental efforts at the College, including the ongoing review and upgrade of the NDC Curriculum to ensure alignment with current best practices in elite military institutions globally.

Furthermore, he highlighted the concerted drive towards the completion and eventual relocation to the College’s permanent site. To facilitate the College’s expanding operational and academic needs, Rear Admiral Ahmed enjoined the CAS to collaborate with other Service Headquarters to assist in providing additional accommodation for incoming course participants.

In his response, Air Marshal Aneke expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended the Commandant and his team for their dedication. He lauded the ongoing efforts to fine-tune officer training at the College, which he described as essential for national security. The CAS subsequently assured the Commandant of the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering support at all times in any area requiring NAF assistance.

The interaction underscores the strong commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces leadership to collaboration, institutional development, and enhancing strategic military education in Nigeria.
