NDC Explores Military Cooperation and Training Opportunities with Turkey
The Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC) Nigeria, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed, paid a strategic visit to the Turkish Embassy in Abuja today, Thursday 20 November 2025 to explore avenues for military cooperation and training collaboration between Nigeria and Turkey. Rear Admiral Ahmed met with the Defence Attaché, representing the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Mehnet Poroy. The meeting focused on building a stronger, more fruitful defence relationship to actualize the College’s mission of producing strategic leaders.

The discussion centred on identifying specific training opportunities and areas of cooperation that could benefit both military establishments, thereby deepening the existing friendly relations between Nigeria and Turkey. The visit underscores the NDC’s commitment to leveraging global partnerships to enrich its academic and strategic objectives.
Rear Admiral Ahmed was accompanied by senior officials, including the Deputy Commandant, Major General KO Ukandu, the College Secretary, Air Vice Marshal AI Hanidu and the College Provost, Prof AO Ahmed.
