Nigerian Army Receives Solution On Operational Readiness From The National Defence College – As Army Participants presents COAS Research paper

The Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja was presented with suggestions which could assist the Nigerian Army to efficiently maintain its equipment and enhance operational readiness. The presentation was made by Nigerian Army participants of NDC Course 32 at the Army Headquarters, Abuja. The COAS commended the participants for carrying out a thorough research work, that examines measures which will aid in checkmating contemporary security challenges currently bedevilling the country.

The Research Paper titled “Equipment Maintenance and Operational Readiness: Strategic Options for the NA by 2035” examines contemporary issues in Army equipment, maintenance, training, research, innovations and operations with in-depth analyses and recommendations. The COAS commends the Commandant, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu and his team for encouraging the research that appears to contain reasonable and practicable solutions towards addressing some challenges to curtailing security threats in the country.

Gen Lagbaja urge the Commandant and staff of the NDC to continue to add value to research and development, pointing out that the NDC remains a citadel of military strategy and capacity development. He further added that the research work will be reviewed and areas that will be of benefit to the NA operations across the country would be implemented.

Speaking earlier, the Commandant of the College, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu said the participants carried out the research work on the topic selected as part of the College effort to keep pace with the dynamic nature of human society which also reflects in the military and proffer solutions. He said the research is purely the effort of the participants under the supervision of the College members of Faculty. The Commandant thanked the COAS for his continuous support to NDC.
