President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Receives Participants of NDC Course 32
Participants of National Defence College Course 32 have today 8 August 2024 presented a research paper to the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. The paper presentation titled ‘Harnessing the Mining Industry for Enhanced National Security and Development: “Strategic Options for Nigeria in 2035” was made to the President at the State House and had in attendance the President, the CoS to the President, the NSA, Chairman House of Reps Committee on Defence, Ministers of Defence, Solid Minerals, State for Defence, Service Chiefs, CDI, IGP and the DG DSS among other senior Government officials.
The President who listened carefully to the presentation made by Colonel Olajide Bello on behalf of the participants, commended the intellectual richness of the work which he says has alot to help the nation especially recognising the current need for Nigeria’s economy to be diversified. President Tinubu provided further inputs for the participants which could enrich their findings. On the topic of the presentation, the President expressed concern for host communities in mining areas and therefore enjoins all relevant institutions to be considerate to health implications and hazards on any issue on Solid Minerals exploration and mining.
The Commandant, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu who led a team of the College Management, Faculty and participants expressed deep appreciation to the President for continuous support to the College and the great gesture of listening to the participants presentation. Admiral Olotu says through the President Tinubu’s wonderful support, the NDC has within the last one year, recorded unprecedented infrastructural upgrades and high improvement in quality training and education.
