Strategic Youth Leadership Conference Committee Inaugurated to Advance National Development
In a powerful move to foster national growth through youth empowerment, the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), Nigeria, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, has inaugurated the Strategic Youth Leadership Conference Committee at the NDC Conference Hall in Abuja. This initiative, a collaboration between the NDC and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD), aims to equip young Nigerians with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for effective leadership in the 21st century.

Rear Admiral Olotu emphasised that youth development is critical to national progress. “A well-trained youth today becomes a visionary leader tomorrow,” he noted, stressing that the conference is designed to nurture a new generation of responsible, innovative, and patriotic leaders. He encouraged youths to seize this opportunity to deepen their understanding of leadership and contribute meaningfully to governance and national transformation.
The Commandant also charged committee members to remain focused and deliver a comprehensive program that will address key leadership and developmental issues facing Nigerian youths. He noted that the selection of the committee members was based on their track records and dedication to national service.
In his remarks, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Engr. Ayodele Olawande, applauded the NDC for its visionary partnership. He described the initiative as a platform for idea-sharing and innovation that will inspire youths to achieve their full potential. “This collaboration is a step forward in harnessing the creative energy of our youth for nation-building,” he said.
