Tribute To The Pioneer Commandant Of The National Defence College, Lieutenant General Jeremiah Timbut Useni (Rtd)

The Commandant National Defence College Nigeria (NDC), Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo Olotu, has eulogised the exemplary personality and leadership of the pioneer commandant of NDC, Lt Gen JT Useni (Rtd).

Paying glowing tribute to the late former FCT minister and former senator, Admiral Olotu described him as a rare gem and a gift to the country.  stating in the condolence register opened at the NDC Abuja, the commandant writes, “a huge loss to the nation and dc in particular. we lost a rare gem, a gift to this country, a great leader, and a passionate nationalist. he may be gone, but his sacrifices for this nation will never be forgotten. adieu Sir, yours was a life well spent. Rest on, gallant General.”

The late senior officer who died on Thursday, 23 January 2025, was the pioneer Commandant of NDC, then known as National War College (NWC) from 16 June to 8 September 1992.
