Federal Government Establishes Centre to Promote Human Security In Nigeria
In a bid to promote human security in Nigeria, the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy has established Nigeria Computer Emergency Response Team (NGCERT). The Minster of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Patami revealed this while delivering a lecture on the topic: Digital Economy and Human Security in Nigeria: The Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy Perspective to the National Defence College, NDC, Course 30 Participants in Abuja.
According to Professor Patanmi, the vision of the NGCENT is to achieve a safe, secure and resilient cyberspace in Nigeria, that would provide opportunities for National prosperity. In his words “the centre among other function is to monitor cyber attacks, as well as, to promote human security in Nigeria”
In his remarks to round up the lecture, NDC Commandant, Rear Admiral OB Daji, who congratulated the ‘Digital Minister’ on his numerous achievements on behalf of College Community since assumption of office, sought for collaboration with the Ministry in the area of ICT infrastructures in the College.
The Lecture is part of the programme for NDC Course 30, Module 4 on Science and Technology sponsored by Directorate of Information Communication and Technology, DICT.
