Joint Training and Collaboration, Panacea to Defeat Adversaries in Nigeria – Gen CG Musa

Joint training, synergy and collaboration among security agencies has been described as a panacea to defeat adversaries in the country. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa stated this while declaring open the National Defence College Course 32 Strategic National Security Exercise (EX -STRANEX 2024) in conjunction with Services war colleges held at Abacha Hall of NDC, Abuja. The CDS emphasized the need for joint training exercise among the 3 Services in the armed forces of Nigeria and other security agencies in order to keep up with tackling the security challenges bedevilling the country.

The CDS who was represented by the Director, Peace Keeping Operations at the Defence Headquarters, Major General Hilary Mabeokwu emphasized that Ex STRATEX  is a turning point  towards protecting the citizens and infrastructures of the country against threats. He added that the goal of the exercise is to evaluate preparedness in every area of national defence in addition to examining military readiness and intelligence capabilities to civil military coordination. He avers that the exercise offers a priceless chance for top level decision making and leadership training capacity towards building strategic planning abilities to manoeuvre challenging situations and make important decisions in the fight against state adversaries.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commandant, represented by the Deputy Commandant, Maj Gen Lawrance Fejokwu said the exercise marks a significant milestone for participants of the of NDC as it will expose them to complex areas and evolving security landscape that will aid them in future military operations. The Commandant reveals that the Exercise is geared towards maintaining excellent relationship among security agencies and other important agencies during operations.
