Commandant NDC Mourns with Akwa Ibom State Government on The Demise of Her Excellency Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno
The Commandant National Defence College Nigeria, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu has paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Akwa Ibom, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno and commiserates with the good people of Akwa Ibom on the demise of the First Lady of the State, Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno. Admiral Olotu who described the First Lady’s death as a big blow not only to the State but to him personally and the College community considering the relationship and collaboration between the College and Akwa Ibom State, said the College has had Chief Executives of Akwa Ibom who have been resource persons in NDC, and the State has also severally hosted participants of the College on study tours. He said the death of the First Lady came when her motherly advice and courage are most needed in not only the administration of the State but to many who have come across her and who have benefitted from her motherly guidance.
The Commandant described Her Excellency as a God-fearing woman who has supported the husband in providing good governance to the people of Akwa Ibom and prayed for the repose of her soul. Receiving the Commandant on behalf of the Governor at Akwa Ibom State Liaison Office in Abuja, the State Liaison Officer, Mr Edwin James thanked the Commandant and his team for identifying with the Governor and good people of Akwa Ibom State in the period of grief. He described the loss as an irreplaceable one to Akwa Ibom.
“The loss is a big blow to the State and the country, and we have been mourning and grieving. We in Akwa Ibom will miss her motherly love, care and passion, but her legacies and memories will remain with us. We believe that one day, we will see again and meet to part no more,” Mr James said.
