NDC Hosts Visiting Team of Bangladesh National Defence College

  National Defence College Nigeria on Friday 26 August 2016 play host to the visiting Team of the National Defence College, Bangladesh. The Team of the Bangladesh NDC was ably led by Rear Admiral Auwal Islam and Members of Course 26 Participants of the College. The Team was in Nigeria for their Geo- Strategic World Study Tour. The visiting Team was received by the Commandant National Defence College Nigeria, Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade and other members of the Faculty.

In his remarks, the Team Leader  Rear Admiral Auwal Islam expressed his delight on the reception and hospitality accorded him and Members of his Team since their arrival to Nigeria. Rear Admiral Auwal Islam who incidentally was course mate of the Commandant NDC Nigeria at National Defence College India said this is the first time that NDC Bangladesh will be visiting Nigeria on such tour. He therefore calls for more collaboration between the two Colleges especially in the areas of Exchange Programme Initiative while also adding that the curriculum of the two great institutions are similar.

The Commandant National Defence College Nigeria Rear Admiral SI Alade in his response thanked the visiting team of the NDC Bangladesh especially for their choice to visit Nigeria. He then used the opportunity to express the College’s readiness in the Exchange Programme Initiative. Adding that plan was already underway in the process to achieving that objective. The visiting Team were later given a brief on the Niger-Delta Issues and the Implication to Nigeria’s Security by Air Commodore EO Chukwu, the Director of ICT in the College.

Similarly the Commandant NDC Nigeria had on Thursday (25th August) evening hosted the Team Leader and Members of his team to Special Dinner in his resident. In attendance at the event were Members of the Faculty in College including the Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies Maj Gen EG Ode, Principal Staff Officer-Coordination Brig Gen AE Attu and other Senior Staff of the College. Also present at the Occasion were Rear Admiral AA Osinowo, the Chief of Training and Operations Naval Headquarters, Chief of Logistics Naval Headquaters Rear Admiral Dick and Rear Admiral Salami.
