Commandant Stresses the Need for Human Resource Management
The Commandant National Defence College, Rear Admiral Adeniyi Osinowo has echoed that human resource management is a huge and very important responsibility that must be taken seriously at all levels of management cadre. He stated this recently when the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) North Central Zone paid him a courtesy call in Abuja. He lauded the activities of the Institute, describing it as a unique platform where managers come together to deliberate on stringent management challenges while arriving at possible solutions.
Admiral Osinowo assured the Institute of his continued support, stating that he will maintain and sustain the existing, cordial and healthy relationship between both Institutions. The Commandant briefed the Institute of the activities of the College since its inception, noting that the objective of both institutions is geared towards training at the management level, adding that the College trains at the Strategic Management Level.
Earlier in her remarks, the Chairman of the Institute for North Central Zone, Mrs Farida Bello thanked the Commandant for making out time out of his very tight schedule to receive them. She congratulated Admiral Osinowo on his appointment as the Commandant of the apex military training institution in Nigeria and West Africa at large. Mrs Bello applauded the commitment and distinctive leadership approach of the Commandant which she stated will further pilot the affairs of the College with zeal and excellence by promoting peace, harmony and economic growth for a better Nigeria.
She further solicited for cooperation which she noted Nigerian Institute of Management has been enjoying from the Commandant’s predecessors. Mrs Bello pledged Nigerian Institute of Management’s continued support to the present leadership of the College in any area that collaboration might be needed.
She concluded by calling on teaming Nigerian Institute of Management members in the National Defence College to henceforth participate actively in the Institute’s activities. The Chairman was accompanied by Dr Mrs Sally Adukwu-Bolujoko, Commodore Abimbola Ayuba (rtd), Prince Dr Emmanuel Jeminiwa, Mr Emmanuel Igboka Igbokidi. Others include; Alhaji Jimmy Abubakar, Mr Ijeoma Ohaeri, CP Chukwuma Kachy (rtd), Hajia Mrs Aisha Bello and Mr Ali San.
