CSRS-NDC Held Workshop on Curriculum Validation for Countering the Financing of Terrorism and Regional Security

The Department of Defence and Security Studies (DDSS) CSRS-NDC, headed by the HOD Dr Abdullahi Adams, on Wednesday 11th of February 2025 held a workshop on Curriculum Validation for Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Regional Security.

The CFT and Regional Security Course is the first of its kind in Africa with the objective of setting a curriculum agenda in Building the capacity of Relevant stakeholders in their responsibilities to ensure the effectiveness of countering Terrorism Financing (TF) as a Center of Gravity (COG). The curriculum is hoped to be generic and professional documents to be used in training experts, resource persons and professional trainers on the critical subject of counter terrorism strategy and operations.

In attendance was the Provost CSRS Prof AO Ahmed who declared the Workshop opened on behalf of the Commandant, Rear Admiral OM Olotu. Other resource person experts are drawn from GIABA, EFCC, DSS, NFIU, NCTC & NDC who in collaboration with some senior research fellows from DDSS – NDC engaged in an in-depth brainstorming session with contributions and suggestions to the Curriculum to meet National, Regional and International standards for the CFT and Regional security Course.

The session was successfully interactive, reassuring and promising towards achieving positive results.
