ICPC Chair Calls for Devolution of Power to Stem Corruption in Nigeria
The Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, SAN, has called for devolution of power to stem the tide of corruption in Nigeria. He made the call as a Guest Lecturer during a lecture titled: Whole of Society Approach in the Fight Against Corruption in Nigeria, delivered at National Defence College (NDC) to Course 30 Participants in Abuja.
Professor Owasanoye also identified bad governance, corruption, and failure to uphold rule of law as monumental economic losses through illicit financial flows.
While reacting, the Commandant of the College, Rear Admiral OB Daji, who decried high level of corruption in the country, enjoined citizens to join hands in fighting against corruption, therefore called for good governance, transparency and accountability.
