Kenya Defence University Visits NDC Nigeria, Seeks Collaboration
A Team from the National Defence University Kenya has paid a working visit to the National Defence College Nigeria (NDC). The team led by the Deputy Commandant of the Kenyan National Defence College, Major General Stephen Mutuku, comprises of participants and members of the Faculty of the Kenyan Defence University. Maj Gen Mutuku, while speaking for the team, said they were at NDC Nigeria to seek cooperation and collaboration in the areas of training and leadership development. He added that Kenya Defence University as a leadership training institution provides strategic leadership education for senior officers in higher command at the Kenya Defence Force.
He expressed appreciation to the Commandant NDC, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, for providing the needed leadership at NDC Nigeria towards achieving the college objectives of training strategic leaders for officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces and foreign counterparts. He assured him of the readiness of Kenyan Defence University to partner with NDC in areas that will be of benefit to both institutions.
In his remarks, Rear Admiral Olotu said the visit provides another opportunity for mutual interaction and exchange of ideas between the leadership of the 2 institutions. He added that NDC as the highest military training institution in Nigeria also has a Centre for Strategic Research and Studies (CSRS) which serves as the College think tank for providing solutions to requisite research work for participants in addition to providing courses on Peace Support Operations and other areas of interest to national, regional and international bodies.
