Meet NDC New College Secretary
A new College Secretary was recently appointed to the National Defence College Nigeria, he is Air Vice Marshal Dahiru Lawal Sanda. Until his appointment, he was the Director of Space Utilization Defence Headquarters Abuja.
Air Vice Marshal Dahiru Lawal Sanda hails from Ganye in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State. He attended the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna as member of 36 RC and graduated with BSc (Hons) Physics. He also holds a Masters Degree in Transport Management (Aviation) from the Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomosho.
He was promoted to the rank of AVM in November 2017, Sanda is a Navigator on the C-130 transport aircraft. Some of the courses he attended include: 301 Flying Training School, Kaduna (1990-1993); 303 Flying Training School, Kano (1993-2000); Flight Safety Officers Course, Pakistan (1999) and graduated as a Flight Safety Officer; In 2004, he attended the Single Ship Tactical Air Drop Training at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, USA. Other courses and seminars attended include: International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Rated Safety Management Course, Human Performance and Limitation in Aviation Course, Crew Resource Management Course and Human Factor in Aircraft Maintenance Course among others.
He has held a number of appointments amongst which are: Commander 351 BSG Minna, Commander 455 BSG Kano, Deputy Director Training and Deputy Director Policy at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja. His last assignment before his appointment as College Secretary National Defence College was Director Space Utilization Defence Headquarters. His military awards and decorations include: passed junior staff course (pjsc), passed staff course (psc), Forces Services Star (FSS), Meritorious Services Star (MSS), Distinguish Service Star (DSS), Silver Jubilee and Golden Jubilee Medals. He is also a Member National Institute (mni) from the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
He is happily married to Hajia Rabi and blessed with a daughter. His hobbies include fishing, farming and listening to people.
