NDC Commandant Holds Press Conference on Combined Graduation and Silver Jubilee Anniversary

The Commandant, National Defence College Nigeria, Rear Admiral Samuel Alade held Press Conference on the College forthcoming graduation ceremony and its Silver Jubilee Anniversary. He acquainted the Press with the line-up activities for the Graduation Ceremony of its Course 25 Participants and its Silver Jubilee Anniversary which he disclosed that has commenced with the Press Conference and to end with cutting of Anniversary Cake on Friday, 4th of August 2017.

 

The Commandant further disclosed that the series of activities marking the Silver Jubilee Celebrations and the Graduation Ceremony also included amongst others; Anniversary Lecture to be delivered by the former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, NDC Open Day, Golf Tournament, NDC Sport Fiesta, Silver Jubilee / Graduation Dinner and Award Night then Silver Jubilee Juma’at Prayer and Interdenominational Church Service to be conducted on separate occasions and venues.

 

He then traced the history of the College to 16th June 1992 and then asserted that since establishment the College has lived up to its expectation. He revealed that the College has so for trained 2001 Participants of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other Military Officers from Africa and elsewhere around the world.

Rear Admiral Alade informed the gathering that it became imperative for him as the 16th Commandant of the College to review some aspects of the College curriculum with the desire to make participation more attractive in line with changing international security dynamics. In addition, he also informed that the College also collaborated with other institution to make its fellows more adaptable even after retirement from service.

 

 

In his words, NDC Participants now have the option of taking the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) Master Degree in Academic Programmes or the University of Ibadan Professional Degree Programmes’’            

The Commandant assured of his earnest desire to continue to promote the College as a Centre of Excellence for developing potential strategic leaders in Africa and globally. ’’Accordingly, we shall continue to take the issue of human and infrastructural development of the College in line with global best practice most seriously’’ he assured.

 

Rear Admiral Alade extended his special appreciation to Mr President and many others for their endless support and encouragement to the College. ‘’I thank them most sincerely for encouraging uncommon enabling atmosphere in the College for positive changes.
