RANAO National Executive Visits NDC

The National Executive Members of Retired Army, Navy and Airforce Officers (RANAO) Association paid an official visit to the National Defence College (NDC) on Thursday, 11 September 2014,. The nine-member Team was led by its National President, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Ogbomo (rtd).

 

In his address, the National President said that the visit was in recognition of the Strategic importance of the College in the Armed Forces and the nation in general, and thus a veritable channel to publicise the Association’s objectives to the military. He solicited the support of the College authority in pushing the Association’s demands to the appropriate higher authorities.

Lieutenant Colonel Ogbomo (rtd) used the forum to intimate the Commandant, Rear Admiral Ndidi Patrick Agholor and the College Community on the roles, objectives, achievements and challenges of the Association. He said that the Association, which was established on 8 August 1987 in Ibadan and was officially launched on 28 November, 1992, is aimed at catering for the welfare of its members. It also provides avenue for common front for retired officers in the country, as well as ensuring that they continue to offer useful advice that will move the country forward.

Responding, the Commandant, Admiral Agholor thanked the Association for their visit to the College, saying that the visit has helped him and the College Community to understand the objective of the Association and its achievements. He offered suggestions on how to take RANAO to the desired height in order to achieve the desired objectives. He promised that the College will continue to assist the Association to realize its objectives.

Major highlight of the visit was the exchange of Souvenirs between the Commandant and the Association’s National President. RANAO is a non governmental organization, made up of retired Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force Officers.
