The Commandant apprised the DA of his recent visit to NDU Washington, and some wonderful engagements made, which include possibilities of transforming NDC into a National Defence University and establishment of Irregular Warfare Centre (IWC) for Nigeria. According to the Commandant, collaboration and cooperation of the US Embassy would assist this mission, especially towards designing capacity building programmes, curriculum development, and exchange of ideas. Admiral Olotu added that in addition to the need of transforming NDC into a University for comprehensive military education and training, the IWC, when established, could serve as a think tank for strategic level guidance and advise on confronting contemporary security challenges in Nigeria and the subregions.
Colonel Brookes, accompanied by DDAs and staff officers of the US Embassy, assured the Commandant of support and necessary assistance to actualise the objectives.
