DEPOWA Pays Courtesy Visit on Commandant

The Executive Committee of Defence and Police Officer’s Wives Association (DEPOWA) paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant, National Defence College, Rear Admiral SI Alade to formally congratulate him on his recent appointment as the head of Nigeria’s highest military institution.

The visit which took place on Tuesday 3rd of November 2015 was led by the National President of DEPOWA and wife of Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Mrs. Omobolanle Olonisakin. In her brief remarks, Mrs. Olonisakin sought the moral and financial support of the Commandant for some ongoing DEPOWA projects, such as the DEPOWA Children’s School at the Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, the Skills Acquisition Center also in Abuja and DEPOWA’s Library Building. She intimated the Commandant about the composition of the organization which had wives of the Officers of the Nigeria Military and the Police as members. The major goal of the association, Mrs. Olonisakin further stated was to improve the lives and welfare of the Officers’ wives and their wards.

The Commandant, while receiving the DEPOWA Executives said he was highly delighted to host the esteemed wives of Nigeria’s Military and Police Officers. He promised to look into their list of requests, and give the College’s support where necessary. The Commandant also called on DEPOWA to keep up their good works in the society for the betterment of humanity.
