NDC Renews MoU With Nigeria Institute of Management

The National Defence College today renews its existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM Chartered) for another five years. The MoU was first signed in 2014, with the objective to entrench management practice in the College and to equip participants with new skills, insights and better understanding of the concepts, challenges, and practices of management. Since signing the MoU, the collaboration allows the Chartered Institute to undertake a specially designed    3-day executive training programme for membership and upgrade at the College.

Meanwhile, the NDC Commandant, Rear Admiral Murtala Bashir has noted that the NIM training package has continued to impact positively on officers’ productivity. He noted that the MoU renewal will enable future participants to continue to benefit from the management training, at least for the next five years, when the MoU would need to be reviewed again.

“The MoU renewal is part of the move to integrate the post-NDC MSc programme into the 11-month duration of the Higher Defence Management and Strategic Studies Course at the College”, he said.  Currently, the NDC is at the verge of integrating the MSc programme into the duration of the Higher Defence Management and Strategic Studies to reduce the training period in tandem with what obtains in similar institutions globally.
