Rear Admiral OM Olotu Takes over as the Commandant National Defence College Nigeria

Rear Admiral OM Olotu, today assumed duty as the 20th Commandant of National Defence College Nigeria. Rear Admiral Olotu is an Underwater  Warfare Specialist of the Nigerian Navy and a Member of 39 Regular Course of Nigeria Defence Academy. The Admiral attended military and civil courses during the course of his career both here in Nigeria and abroad. He was at Germany Naval College for his young officer training courses and Armed Forces Command and Staff College for his Junior and Senior Staff Courses before proceeding to Royal College of Defence Studies for his strategic course.

Some of the appointments held by Rear Admiral Olotu includes; Navigating Officer, NNS NWAMBA, Naval Assistant to the Chief of Policy and Plans Naval Headquarters Abuja. Others are, Directing Staff at Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji and National Defence College. He was also, Commander Martime Guard Command and Nigerian Navy Ship LUGARD Lokoja, Chief Staff Officer, Headquarters Logistics Command and Director of Manning Naval Headquarters before he became the Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command, an appointment he held till he was appointed Commandant National Defence College.

The Admiral have several decorations as well as membership of some International Institutions which includes; Grand Service Star, Passed Staff Course Dagger, Fellow National Defence College Dagger. Others are, Associate Fellow, Royal Institute of Navigation and Member, United States Naval Institute.

The Senior Officer at his leisure, enjoys reading,  conducting research, hiking, boating and writing. He is married and the union is blessed with children.
