Commodore CJ Chiejile – Faculty Member and Directing Staff (DS)
Commodore Chukwuka Joel Chiejile was born in Lagos Mainland on 1 January 1966 and hails from Agbor in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. He attended Methodist Primary School Apapa Lagos from 1972 – 1978 and later proceeded to United Christian Secondary School, Apapa from 1979 – 1984. After his secondary education he got admission into the Nigerian Naval College ONNE as a member of 6 Regular Course. Chiejile was commissioned as a Sub- Lieutenant in the Nigerian Navy on 8 July 1989. He has Master Degrees in Transport Management from Lakode Akintola University of Science and Technology and Masters in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan.
Chiejile has attended several courses since commission among which are Sub- Technical Course at NNS QUORRA and Officers Long Course NNS QUORRA with specialization in Above Water Warfare. Others are both the Junior and Senior staff courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji Nigeria in 2000 and 2005 respectively and National Defence College Nigeria in 2012.
He helded several appointments both onboard and ashore. Some of the appointments include Watch Keeping Officer (WKO) NNS SIRI for ECOMOG duties, Missile Gunnery Officer (MGO) NNS EKPE, Instructor at NNC ONNE and NNS QUORRA(Above Water Warfare School) .Others are First Lieutenant Naval Unit Abuja, DS AFCSC and XO NNS VICTORY. He was also the Assistant Command Administrative Officer (ACAO) HQ WNC, CI AFCSC, Dy Dir Returns Records and Analysis NHQ, Military Observer United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) and currently DS NDC.
he has the following honours and decorations Forces Service Star (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS), Pass Staff Course Dagger (Psc+) ECOMOG and UNMEE medals. He is a Fellow Chartered Institute of Shipping (FCIS). His hobbies include travelling, driving, watching football and playing table tennis. He is married to Mrs Georgina Uzoma and blessed with 3 children.
