NDC Course 26 tour of Abuja

The National Defence College Nigeria has part of its orientation activities conducted the Participants of Course 26 on a familiarization tour of Abuja. The leader of the team was Commodore Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla. The places visited during the tour include the National Assembly, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, National Space Research and Development Agency. The Participants also visited the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory Headquarters.

 

 

 

The objective of the familiarization tour was to acquaint the Participants of Course 26 with their immediate environment in Abuja and also to expose Participants to likely places where research materials could be obtained while on the course.

A total of 137 Participants partook in the familiarization tour, 54 Participants from the Nigerian Army, 26 from the Nigerian Navy and 27 from the Nigerian Air Force. Others are 4 Participants from Nigeria Police Force, and one Participant each from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) Such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Department of State Service, Defence Intelligence Agency, National Intelligence Agency, Nigeria Customs, Federal Road Safety Corps and National Assembly. Meanwhile, National Assembly is participating for the very first time in the College.

International Participants from Bangladesh, Republic of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Germany, Ghana, India, Madagascar, Malawi and Mali were also in attendance. Other International Participants that partook in the familiarization tour are Niger, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
