Isaac Terwase Sampsons

Isaac Terwase Sampson is a Research Fellow II with the Department of Defence and Security Studies of the ACSRS. He joined the Centre in 2006 from the Ministry of Justice, Kogi State, where he served as a Senior State Counsel. Between 2007 to May, 2011, he acted as the NDC’s Legal Officer, thereby combining academic and administrative responsibilities. He holds Bachelor’s and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Jos, Nigeria and is currently a doctoral candidate in law at the same institution. Sampson is also called and enrolled as Solicitor/Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and was engaged in private legal practice before joining government service. His research interests include: conflicts and security law –with bias on terrorism and African security-, gender and governance, international humanitarian law, international criminal law and human rights law.
